Collecting Babies For Satan

I started making arcade style games about 5 years ago. I have made about 25 games and self published them to iOS, Google Play, and here at itch.io I post the Windows version. I self promote. I don't buy ads. I don't have any budget, I'm just making games here in my little room. Of all my games so far, Affaire Des Poisons out performs all the others combined. It's weird. I have no idea why, but this game appeals the most and I wonder why all the time. Why? The title is in French, it's confusing to anyone who does not speak French... there seems to be so much against it... I ask myself, Why is Affaire Des Poisons my hit game?

I remember when I began working on Affaire Des Poisons. I have always loved the weird wood cut prints of witches and demons from way back in the witch trial days. I thought it would be amusing to make a game that assumed all the crazy stuff that was blamed on witches was really true. So the people have spoken. They love the idea of collecting babies for Satan, conjuring imps and demons, riding broom sticks, and generally spreading evil all over the countryside, and to be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised.

When I began the game, I wasn't sure anyone would even allow me to publish it on their platform. Then when it published, I was shocked to see it completely eclipse all my other games combined. To me this was a good sign. This game was deeply personal to me. It's the exact kind of game I want to make. It's a weird combination of historical, educational, easy to play, and it feels naughty to play it. I felt so much support. I have always wanted a hit game, but I'm so glad it's this one. I'm so happy that I could create a crazy game that I love and the world would join me in having weird wicked fun.

Dark humor is a survival mechanism. I guess there's a ton of you out there who "get it". Thanks! I want to share a Windows version so Affaire Des Poisons is available for all my buddies with PCs. Thanks for playing this game. It gives me hope that I can develop games that are deeply personal while also reaching a larger audience that feels it all with me. I keep adding levels and witchy characters to this game.
